Region 8 Attorney Case Study: Major Enforcement Involving Improper Disposal of RCRA Hazardous Waste
Dennis has been the Regional Attorney at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation in Region 8 since March 2014. Prior to returning to the Department, he was a partner in the Buffalo, NY law firm of Jaeckle, Fleischmann & Mugel, LLP from July 1993 to March 2014, where he headed the Environmental Practice Group. Prior to that he was an associate and partner at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Leiby and MacRae in NYC, where he practiced in the Public Utility and Environmental groups, from 1979 to 1993.
Dennis graduated with a B. Ch. Eng. From the New York University School of Engineering in 1972; and with a M. Ch. Eng. and an MPA also from New York University, in 1974. He also graduated with a JD from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1979. From June 1974 to September 1976 Dennis worked at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation as an Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner of Programming, Development and Research.
Dennis will present a short case study of a recent major enforcement action in Region 8, involving the improper disposal of e-waste that included violations of the Department’s Hazardous Waste, RCRA, and e-waste statutes and regulations
