Mr. Walsh will provide a general update on NYSDEC programs, policy, and enforcement, specifically as these relate to Region 8.

Mr. Walsh earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University, a Master of Public Administration from the State University of New York’s College at Brockport, and is a licensed professional engineer in New York. He began his career with NYSDEC 1990, transferring to the Region 8 Spill Prevention and Response Section in 1992. Since then he has served as manager of the Division of Environmental Remediation’s three Bulk Storage Programs in Region 8, including the Chemical and Petroleum Bulk Storage Programs as well as the Major Oil Storage Facility Program, as Chief of the Western Flood Protection and Dam Safety Hub Section, Regional Emergency Response Coordinator, and most recently as the Acting Regional Director for DEC Region 8.
