Climate Adaptation in the Finger Lakes

Please join us in person for the GFL AWMA monthly Chapter meeting!

Aging infrastructure and a changing climate are affecting how our communities respond to different climate hazards such as flooding, extreme heat, and changes to precipitation.  In this presentation, we’ll explore the difference between land use and climate change, discuss expected changes to climate hazards in the Finger Lakes region, and review case studies for different ways to utilize nature-based solutions to address climate hazards.  We’ll also explore how these nature-based solutions can help address multiple issues at once that are of importance to the Finger Lakes region, such as reducing areal flooding and harmful algal blooms.
